Cannot update or deinstall NT due to missing file

Due to a missing file I´m not able to update or deinstall NT 8.0.17.0.

When trying to update, there comes an error message, saying s.th like:

"The file "C:\User\Desktop" is not a valid installation package (... ...)."


Also, deinstallation from "Control Panel" --> "Programs and Features" is not working.

Months ago I used a cleaner named "WinInstaller Cleanup", an deleted every file the program was able to find. I think there lies the problem: A missing uninstallation file for my NT 8.0.17 installation.

I would need info how to completely manually deinstall NT, or
would need that missing file.

OS is Windows 10 Professional.

If you cannot uninstall NinjaTrader from the Control Panel, then this may need the attention of a Windows expert. Do you still have the program you're referring to which you used to remove programs from your PC? If so, does NinjaTrader appear still within that program?

the program doesn´t show any useful information - only cryptical named MSI files. Months ago I already used that cleaner (named "WinInstaller Cleanup"), an deleted every file the program was able to find (probably also the NT uninstallation file).

So I guess what I now need is ...

a.) Info how to completely manually uninstall NT,

or

b.) need that missing file to be able to uninstall or update NT.

You can't complete a 'manual' uninstall of NinjaTrader in any other supported way other than the Windows uninstaller. While we could manually delete files, we would need to manipulate your Windows Registry to completely remove all record of NinjaTrader. Making this modification of fundamental PC files is not something we could support.

We may be able to use a third party tool called Revo Uninstaller to get NinjaTrader into a state in which it can be installed. Please write into PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com so I may provide you with more specific instructions. Make sure to include "2291570 ATTN PatrickG" and a link to this forum post in your message.
