Good day NinjaCustomer,
Thank you for your post.
Yes, there is a way to show previous closed trades on your chart. This is viewed in the Trades section within the Data Series menu.
Right click on an open chart and click Data Series. Scroll down to the bottom to where it says Trades and expand that section. Then change Plot Executions to either "Markers" or "Text and Markers". Click OK and now this will display all your previous trades.
Here is the link to Ninjatrader 8 help guide regarding Data Series properties.
Let me know if you have further questions.Steven R.NinjaTrader Customer Service

are you completely sure about this? I checked and I already had text and marker...
I have no problems with plotting executions of currently open positions...
but what else must I do to get it to display those positions on the chart after they have been closed?

ok i just did a cqg demo 6E trade and closed it
trade was performed via chart trader on the 200 tick chart
but if i duplicate that tradeless tick chart to a new tab.. then the new tab will show the trade
F5 on the original tab forces a chart redraw but doesn't show the trade
neither does a reload all historical data

Good day NinjaCustomer,
Thank you for your note.
The trades displayed are dependent on the account selected in Chart Trader. Would you please provide a screen shot with your chart trader open on the chart you're having this issue with?
I look forward to your response.Steven R.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hello NinjaCustomer,
Thank you for you note.
I would suggest closing the original chart and proceeding from your newly duplicated chart since the original may have become corrupted over time. If this behavior repeats in the future please send us your database, log, and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.
You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support
Expand 'Other files' and enable 'Database file'.
Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 1900714 and this forum post link.
Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.Steven R.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hello,
In the recent past, I used "Flatten Everything" to close all trades and all my lines and markers disappeared from the chart. But the strategy that made them had been removed as well, and when I put it back, along with the correct sim account, I got back at least the markers/text. Today it happened again, but they did not come back and I found this article.
I tried to take the advice and send email support thru the platform and got this:
(There is no shortage of space on my drive)
Note that the strategy I was using received real-time signals [only] and therefore cannot draw history. So apparently I cannot get back the dashed lines due to this fact.
I've seen multiple articles / feature requests that NT8 add an option to draw lines between the markers like it does when active. They were dated like 10 or 15 years ago (something crazy like that). And still... no option to draw lines. So I have to spend another couple hours redrawing them all manually.

Hello DerkWehler,
Thank you for the message.
In regard to the "Insufficient system storage" message, that is coming from our servers and the Development team is investigating a resolution at this time.
Until then, users are still welcome to reach out directly via email and share their log and trace files with us manually.- Send an email to Support[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com
- Use the steps below to compress and include the Log and Trace files with your email to support
- Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder or "NinjaTrader 7' folder
- Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
- Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
- Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
As for the Lines between orders, this is something specific to a Strategy.- From here, you would need to reach out to the developer of the strategy and ask them if they could modify the code to handle being removed and added back on and it re-draw the lines from historical trades
Finally, if you would like to add your vote to this request, please feel free to use the new Feature Request form linked below:Deciding on features for future releases is not a simple black-and-white decision. There are many factors involved including but not limited to:- Demand which is measured by objective user requests and subjective discretion on the part of our Product Management team.
- Feasibility
- Developer bandwidth
- Current projects in the queue
- Economics
Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.
