OVX support

I'm trying to access the OVX (CBOE Crude Oil Volatility Index) on my charts and I've tried the symbols OVX and ^OVX and nothing is coming up in a chart. I have a paid Kinetick data feed as well as the CQG feed through Ninjatrader brokerage Also, I don't see it in your list of market metrics.

So how can I access this data?

'OVX' is not in NinjaTrader's database by default, however, you can add this instrument to the database by following these steps:

• Navigate to the Control Center > Tools > Instruments window.
• Left-click on the ‘add’ button that appears near the lower right-hand corner of the Instruments window.
• Enter instrument-specific symbol mapping, exchanges, and other information on the Instrument editor that appears. This information will largely depend on your broker or data feed provider’s specific settings regarding the instrument in question. (detailed below)
• Left-click the OK button once each field has been filled out with correct information.

The new instrument has now been created in your database.

The symbol for Kinetick is 'OVX.XO'. Here are the custom instrument settings I used to create this instrument:

• Master Instrument = OVX
• Instrument Type = Index
• Exchange = CBOE
• Kinetick = OVX.XO
• All other settings = Default (unless you have specific reasons to change them)

I use the continuum data feed. Is the symbol for that also OVX.XO ?

For this type of question you would need to contact your data provider to check availability and to make sure you are subscribed to a package that includes that data. They would be able to let you know what symbol mapping is needed.
