Can Ninjatrader 8 run from an external drive

Can someone tell me if Ninjatrader 8 can be installed to and run from an external drive??

It depends on what you mean exactly.

When you install NinjaTrader, you'll notice there is a prompt where you can change the install directory. This directory would be the 'engine' of NinjaTrader. However, there is a second directory that is hard-coded to be installed in your Windows user's Documents folder location. This would be the 'User info' part of NinjaTrader - your workspaces, indicators, custom settings, etc,

There may be a way to relocate your PC user's documents folder to an external drive, however, we would not have any documentation on that process nor could we advise of any unforeseen consequences that may occur as a result of making this fundamental change to your Windows user file structure.

Can you elaborate on what your goal is for wanting to install NinjaTrader on an external drive?
