Hot Keys Question

Hello, when setting up Hot Keys, I received this message- "all hot keys are inactive when a modal form has focus", what does this mean?

Thank you for writing in..

Glad to assist. For an example, go to the Tools > Options window. When this window is open, it is modal -- no other windows will be clickable, and a sound will play if you attempt clicks outside the modal / Options window. When this modal open, no hotkeys can be used.
