What trading hours should I select for ES, GC, and CL?

Thanks for your post.

By default, NinjaTrader has already designated and assigned trading hours for these instruments based on when they trade as specified by the exchange(s) and you do not need to select other trading hours unless you wish to change your view of the data.

If you create a chart, you will note in the data series window that the Trading hours are set to <Use Instrument settings>. Typically the trading hours assigned for futures instruments will be ETH (Extended Trading Hours) based, according to when the instrument trades. To find out which specific trading hours are applied, for any instrument:
1. Go to the NT8 control center and select Tools>Instruments
2. In the "Instruments" window, in the search bar, type in the instrument to search for, such as ES. As you type, selections with ES will show in the table.
3) From the list of match instruments, locate and left click on ES with type "Future"
4. At the bottom right of this window, click "edit", this will open a specific 'Instrument" window
5. In the window, you can now see the name of the assigned Trading Hours, in the case of ES it is CME US Index Futures ETH

Once you have found what the default is, you can then go to Tools>Trading Hours to see a list of all templates. By left clicking on the CME US Index Futures ETH on the left side, it will show all of the hours the instrument trades.
