Historical data corrupt

Good Morning,

When I start NT I get the error message that the data is corrupt on NZDJPY. I ctrl alt del out, restart, delete that chart, close, restart and connect again. I don't get the error message anymore but now NT just freezes - no error messages.

Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist. Please use the steps below to clear the data cache:

Please close NinjaTrader and navigate to the following directory:
My Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > Db
Delete the contents of the cache, tick, minute and day folders. Now, when you restart NinjaTrader and connect to your data feed, NinjaTrader will load new data.

If you still see the same error, please let reply along with the connected data provider and chart interval in use.

Hi Eric,

It froze again after doing that. I had a recent backup so I just restored. It hung on the very last file in the restore so I had to task manage out. Restarted and everything seems OK.

Not the first time I got a corrupt historical db. What causes that and is there anything we can do to prevent it?

Hello Segwin,

Usually a large database will start to get corrupt or cause errors. You can periodically reset the database to keep the size down or create new databases every few months to ensure the size does not get too large.
