Volumetric range bars

Why is it that volumetric range bars are a different length to regular range bars?
IE: A 4 range bar is 4 ticks long, but a 4 range volumetric bar is 5 ticks long, and so on...
Why is it so? Is this a programming bug?

If you observe the volumetric or non-volumetric 4 range bars, they both have a total range of 5 ticks. Here is an example of the same bar. Count the amount of ticks starting with the high and ending with the low:

3009.75
3009.50
3009.25
3009.00
3008.75

If you're using some sort of measuring tool to check this (like the ruler) you will want to make sure that you change your 'snap mode' to 'bar and price' to get an accurate result:
