FOREX.com NT8 connections

Is something wrong with NT8 FOREX.com connections? It keeps disconnecting. Takes a long time to reconnect. The control panel stays in yellow. I have FOREX.com desktop on the same desktop and it is connected and running fine. Did something change on NT8 w.r.t FOREX.com connections?

See screen shot. It stays in yellow for a long time if I try to reconnect while at the same time I have installed FOREX.com desktop trading system on the same computer and it is connected and working fine

Do you see the same behavior when using the NinjaTrader Historical Data Servers?

Please disconnect before following the steps below.

You may verify by going to the Control Center > Connections > Configure.

Then select your Forex.com connection under the 'Configured' list and then enable the 'NinjaTrader historical data server' option.

Click 'OK' to save your changes.

Then reconnect to test.

On a semi-related note, what is the best practice for Forex.com connections - to use the Ninja historical data server or not to? I found that without the option, I was only getting 30 days of historical intraday data, plus occasional massive data gaps (e.g. first 6 months of 2019 on EURAUD). Using the Ninja historical server option appears to fix the issues, but what is the recommended approach and what are the reasons for using or not using the option?

Thank you for your post.

This would depend on what you prefer, with the option unchecked the platform will use the FOREX.com Historical Data Servers instead of our NinjaTrader Servers, which will affect the amount of data that is available as this will differ between Historical Data Servers and Providers.

I am not able to recommend using one over the other however if you still see gaps and missing data when using the NinjaTrader Historical Data servers please let us know and we may look further into this matter.
