Export backup file (protection).

Hello, I would like to know if there is a way to protect the exported file (attached image) that I will give to a person. I wish he would only use it and not transferable to others. How can I do. Thank you. Roberto.

Thank you for your post.

Backup files cannot be protected. However, if someone was to try and import your backup on a different PC, NinjaTrader will detect that they are using a different machine by comparing what's called a Machine ID to the one associated with your backup. Since the Machine IDs on different PCs are unique, NinjaTrader will then automatically remove your license key, username and password, and other sensitive information from the PC that imported the backup. This is a purposeful security feature. This feature prevents others from being able to access your personal information simply by stealing your files and loading them onto another PC.

What information are you trying to transfer to another user? Are you trying to supply someone with a strategy, indicator, or other add-on you've created, or, for example, chart templates or workspaces?
