Using Kinetick and Ameritrade for equity

I am using one indicator for equities that requieres 3 year back for minute data. TD Ameritrade only provides 1 year back so I am looking into Kinetick to get the historical data of 3 years at minute level.

However I bellieve I need to keep open two connections: Ameritrade to place the actual trading and Kinetick for the data.
What is the right configuration on Ninjatrader 8 for this scenario?

Thank you for writing in.

Glad to assist. By default, the connection order will determine which feed is first used for data.

It is also possible to to connect to multiple data providers and then set Preferred connections for each instrument class and connection. For example, if you wanted to still receive real-time or historical data index data from the TD connection and not Kinetick, this can be set via the Preferred options.

To manage these items, go to Tools > Options > Market Data > Preferred Connections.
