    Hello,

    Thank you for the post.

Could you also share the Data Series settings you are using so we may try to replicate this item on our end?

I look forward to your reply.

Yes, please find attached below. After a few hours - I tried to 'reload historical data' and it disappeared. Mind you - I tried this earlier too to no effect.

I suspect you're receiving bad real-time ticks which are then being corrected by your historical data provider.

What version of NinjaTrader 8 are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.?.?)

Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

Also, to clarify, you're not able to reproduce this when using a built in unedited trading hours template? Please provide a screenshot of the settings of the "ES 24 7" trading hours template you've created.

Could be. But should not the bad tick show up in my other charts too? And why does it disappear when I change Trading Hours Template?

I'm using IQ Feed, but am also connected to Ninja Continuum for my brokerage account. I first connect to IQ - then Continuum.

Currently, I experience it with my custom trading hours template. And when switching to Default 24/7 it disappears. You can find a picture of the settings on the bottom of page 1. I already posted it.

But when I first experienced this problem in the original post, I was using the unedited ETH Index Futures template.

First, I see that you're using an older version of NinjaTrader 8. To update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:
              • First, copy your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
              • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
              • Enter your license key and press Submit
              • Select 'NinjaTrader 8'
              • Select 'Download'
              • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.
If the symptom persists after the update, then I suspect your custom trading hours template along with your cache data is becoming corrupted somehow.

                Hi, Patrick,

Thanks. I can try that - but I suspect it won't solve the issue.

Can you elaborate on the last sentence? Is there a solution for that?

FWIW - no problems today or yesterday.

                Best,

                Johnny

The cache stores chart data for the purpose of quickly loading in the future. This data is stored per trading hours template. If the symptom seems to only occur on a particular session template, then the template itself or the associated cache would be my suspicion unless the bad ticks are inherently arriving from your data provider. Marco makes mention of the tick filter and its limitations in post #14

Allright. We'll just have to wait and see then. Currently, the problem is not present.

Regarding bad ticks - can one bad tick come in at one time frame, but not another? Seems a bit unlikely to me, but I don't fully understand these things.

I had this problem in the past. I believe it had something to do with the trading hours and "break at EOD" Try unticking "break at EOD" in data series. I remember it would show me a huge bar for the overnight session on the ES, but when I would change the settings it would show a gap. I fixed it by choosing "Use instrument settings" and unticking "break at EOD"

                        Thank you, Johnny!

I tried it today and it MAY have worked. I was a little unfocused since this was during the market open and I was trading - so forgot to check the chart immediately after I had unticked "Break at EOD". Yes, the weird bar showed up again today, but it was gone later in the session.

For now - maybe this was indeed a solution.

                        Thanks again.
