Restore Backup Archive Error

Very frustrating.

I have 3 different backup files from 3 different days and all 3 give me a error because the object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I am sending a screenshot of the error message. Can I still extract and restore my backup data ?

Hello. Thank you for the post.

First, shut down NinjaTrader> go to your documents folder> select the "NinjaTrader 7" folder> copy it, then paste the whole folder onto your desktop for a temporary backup.

To extract your data, you can rename the backup file to "<backupname>.zip" to turn it into a zip file then copy the contents into the NinjaTrader 7 folder in your documents. Please see this video demonstration.

If Windows says "The same file exists", select "replace".

After this, launch NinjaTrader and your data will be restored.

I am trying to change the backup file to a zip file. but the file type is not changing to a zip file. The file type still remains a NTBK file. It just seems that the name of the file is being changed from "2018-02-12" to "2018-02-12.zip" . But both still remain as a NTBK file under Type column\.

confused..FYI I am running windows 10.

Hello. Thanks for the reply.

Do you have your explorer set to show file extensions? At the top of the file explorer go to the View tab and enable "File name extensions".
