Hello, can you follow up on why this is deprecated/obsolete
for BarsPeriod ? did this happen in prior releases or 12 ? as i just upgraded.

For custom bars it seems the BarsPeriodType is the key part.

you can see in this post and your post on this specifically with reference to the BarsPeriodTypeName

that covered generally what i was trying to achieve

the other point was that Brett commented on was Ninja would strive to better document in release notes when key/any methods/properties were being deprecated as happened with createorder with some changes to parameters for addon order use.

please update once you have information from your collegues on this being removed.

Reaching out to others in the office and checking internal information, the answer is that it was marked obsolete to tell users "Don't use this anymore." Since it was an undocumented item, it would make more sense why this would not be explicitly listed in the release notes in contrast to CreateOrder() which was updated in the help guide and marked as deprecated which could be seen in Visual Studio.

It would be recommended then to use the index for your custom bartype and cast it with BarsPeriodType. I've updated my old post in that thread to advise this.

Hello, yes i am now using BarsPeriodType - i had a look at the post i linked in my last message .. which part did you update on this ? doesnt appear to have refreshed on public site ?

I had only added a note to post 4 last week. I have elaborated on the example in that post to detect ChartTabs with a certain BarsType by name.
