    Parallels ChartPanel Scaling Issues

    Hello,

i am using NT8 in Parallels Desktop (Windows 10) on a MacBook Pro.
My Windows 10 Instance is placed Fullscreen on an Asus ZenScreen (1920x1080) which is connected to my MacBook.

The scaling in Windows is set to 100% and all Applications are working perfectly.
NT8 is also working flawlessly with no scaling issues in the application at all (Control Center, Setting Windows etc.)

The problem i have, is that the ChartPanels are suffering from a slight scaling displacement (see attached picture).

When i grab one of the charts with the mouse (mouse down) to resize the chart window, the scaling is correct and perfect but as soon as i release the mouse, the scaling becomes ugly again.

Is there anybody who knows a solution to this problem?

    Thank you,
    Mike

Hello. Thank you for the note.

I found these publicly available links that might be a possible fix:

Also, it could be that you have the scaling of one monitor different to the other in Windows. Setting the scaling of both monitors to the same level in Windows might help. If your Mac has a higher resolution than the other monitor then it can cause scaling issues. Parallels is not supported so this will take some tweaking of settings on the Mac side to fix it.

I look forward to hearing of your results.

      Hey Chris,

      thank you for your message.
Well i already crawled through all of the parallels articles and tried pretty much every possible solution.

Usually i would say this is clearly a problem with the parallels desktop software, but:

      - Any other software on my PC is working fine without any scaling issues.
      - Even NT7 Charts are crisp and sharp without any scaling issues.
      - NT8 only shows these issues on charts, nowhere else in the software.
      - When i click and hold down the mouse on a chart window as if i would drag it, the issue dissapears and the charts becomes sharp.

So my guess is that this is caused by something in ChartControl, the ChartPanel or the ChartScale.
There is a difference in chart rendering when i click on the panel border to drag it which resolves the issue.

      Best regards,
      Mike

Hello. Thank you for the reply.

Other applications will work because they use the default windowing system. NinjaTrader 8 uses a custom windowing system so the handling provided by the default system are not there. The only other solution I could think of is this fix:

Windows is probably using the DIP of your mac instead of the external screen's resolution.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

          Thank you,

i switched to VMWare Fusion which seems to work.

          Best regards,
          Mike
