API to execute orders against brokerage?

Hello,

I'm developing technologies in raw C#, apart from NinjaTrader. Does NinjaTrader expose a .NET object that will allow me to execute orders and to otherwise interact with my NinjaTrader brokerage account?

I noticed NinjaTrader.Cbi DLL appears to have classes and methods to this effect. Is this the correct way to connect to the brokerage? And if so, is there documentation for the proper use of this DLL?

NinjaTrader does not provide a direct interface to the connected brokerage account through an external application.
