    Error during Import a Backup File

    Hallo Support-Team,

    I am using the latest version on Ninja Trader 8.0.17.2 64-bit on Microsoft Windows Version 1803 (Build 17134.556)


    ERROR-DESCRIPTION

    Trying to import the latest backup file, the following error message pop-up:

    NinjaTrader failed to restore the selected backup file:
    The process can not access the
    "C: \ Users \ Gowinda \ Documents \ NinjaTrader8 \ bin \ Custom \de-DE\ NinjaTrader.Vendor.resources.dll"
    file because it is in use by another process.



    I exactly got the same problem as already mentioned in the following thread:

    SOLUTION

    After some trie-and-error I found out, the reason for this faulty import.

    Choosing the German language, I got the above mentioned problems, importing a backup file.
    Note: An export of the backup file was successfully possible in German language


    Switching NINJA Trader v8 to the English language, the latest backup file will be restored successfully.


    Is it possible to find out the reason for this error in German language (or maybe other languages too...? )
    and offer a suitable solution for this problem, without changing the language?

    it looks like that in ticket #1963014, my colleague Cody manually restored your NinjaTrader from the backup file that was experiencing issues in the original forum post you made. This is a valid work-around, but is a work-around. A permanent solution would be ideal.

    Based on this additional information you've provided, I was able to reproduce the same error by following these steps:
    • Switch NinjaTrader's language to German
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Create a backup file
    • Shut down NinjaTrader
    • Restore from that backup file
    I've reported this to the Development Team. The internal tracking ID is QA-4341. I'll follow up when there is any new information. Thanks for following up on this one!

      By the way, I only related to that guy, who has the same problems like me. But I'm not that guy.

      I am using NINJA Trader for some days and thought, that this information could help YOU and other German users of NINJA Trader with similar problems.
