"You must select an expiry" in NT7 when trying to add a stock in Instrument list

When trying to add a stock to a list in instrument manager I get the error "you must select an expiry". It seems that NT is treating a security as a future contract or similar.

I use this installation only for backtesting and optimizing.

Thank you for writing in.

After testing this on my end, I was able to successfully add the AAPL stock to my list without seeing this error.

I suspect what you are experiencing is due to not resetting your Instruments, and possibly needing an update.

Please update NinjaTrader 7 (if required) and reset your instruments:

First, to update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:

• First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
• Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
• Enter your license key and press Submit
• Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
• Select 'Download'
• Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

Lastly, to reset your instruments, please follow the steps below:

• Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed
• Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK
• Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection

Please note, resetting your Instruments will remove custom Instruments you have added to the platform.
