Issue getting data for Canadian Stocks with Kinetick

    Hi,

I wanted to view Canadian stocks in Ninjatrader using Kinetick. Not sure what I'm doing wrong when adding the instrument. Can anyone give me some tips? I followed the instructions from Kinetick:

"The symbols for Canadian stocks will need to be added manually from the NinjaTrader Instrument Manager. Please follow the steps below to add a symbol within NinjaTrader 8:
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instruments
    • Click the "add"
    • Enter instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange
    • Fill in the relevant symbol mapping for Kinetick
    • Press the "OK" button
Most Canadian stocks will use the exchange-listed ticker symbol with the prefix "C." The prefix "C." will denote that this symbol trades on the TSX as opposed to one of the US exchanges. For example, the Royal Bank of Canada is added with:

Master Instrument: (user defined name) C.RY
    Instrument Type: Stock
    Tick Size: 0.01
    Session Template: Default 24/7
    Exchange: Default, TSX
    Symbol Map: Kinetick: C.RY"

See attached for my setup. Once I add the instrument, no data loads in the chart.

Edit: Figured it out I. RY is also a US ticker, although it does not show up in the preloaded instrument list in ninjatrader. I named the master instrument RYRY and only selected "Default" for the exchange. Works

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Equities can be added to the NinjaTrader instrument database by typing the instrument symbol followed by the exchange into an open chart and pressing the "Enter" key on your keyboard. For example, you can type "IWM NYSE" to add ticker symbol "IWM" mapped to the NYSE.

Do you have problems loading stock charts with this method?

I look forward to your reply.
