Dynamic SR Lines not matching NT7

HI NinjaTrader_JoshG - I do no tknow how to post about the topic of my question so I am tagging along on this NT8 conversion post.

Josh, a while ago you produced DynamicSR Lines NT8 indicator at: https://ninjatraderecosystem.com/use...amicsrlines-2/

It seems to be based on the NT7 version which I have been using for several years: https://ninjatraderecosystem.com/use...ynamicsrlines/

However, it does not work the same or as accurately as the NT7 version. I use Renko charts.

I can not figure out why. Can you help me?

(Also, can you give me the link (and how) as to where I start a new post to a forum member or on a forum topic?) Thanks. Happy New Year!

    Hello seeseea,
    Thanks for your post.

You can create a new thread by first going to the forum you want to post in.( Technical Support, Indicator Development, etc)
Inside that forum you should simply click the "+ New Topic" button just above the listing of threads.

For now I went ahead and had your post moved to its own thread.

There are a couple of things which will prevent any NT7 indicator or strategy from being able to produce exactly the same results as NT8 :
    • There have been many significant improvements to the engine NT8 uses to process data
    • It is nearly impossible to start two NT7 indicators or strategies in identical situations; a fraction of a second's difference in start times could change how opening and closing prices are defined and produce wildly different results
Can you show me some screenshots and go into further detail on what differences you are seeing?

To take a screenshot with Windows 7 or newer I would recommend using Window's Snipping Tool.

Alternatively to take a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image.
