where are the horizontal dotted white lines coming from in the attached image [i.e.] how can i eliminate them?

Thank you for your post.

These appear to be the Horizontal Grid Lines on your chart. Please right click in your chart > select Properties > expand the 'Grid Line - horizontal' option > here you will set the color, width, dash style, and whether the line will be visible.
