Feature Request - Manual playback bar by bar

Adding my support for this feature request, with some additional details -

The best replay system I've ever encountered in my years of trading looks like the one below:

+ replays multiple time frames simultaneously so price (and your indicators) on multiple charts stay in sync (cranberry circles, with time remaining before candle close)
+ date & time go-to fields to jump right to your trade window start (yellow circle, blue arrow button takes chart into replay mode to the date and time entered)
+ alternatively, bar selector to begin replay at a specific candle on the chart (pink circle)
+ chart timestamp to show current time in replay (purple circle)

Replay behavior
+ selectable jump interval based on open charts, jumps by ticks OR bar posts by selected interval (orange circle)
+ advance by ticks or bar posts forward or backwards by selected interval with single click on button (blue circles)
+ replay/pause replay intervals at indicated speed per interval (red circle speed selector, green circles play/pause forward and reverse)

If NT had even just bar replay in sync on multiple timeframes that advanced bar by bar, that would be 95% of the way to useful backtesting. If the above features were implemented, that would make NT the premier backtesting platform in the industry considering all the other ways NT allows for customization.

Please add these features!!!!!

I have been looking for this type of feature since I started using the NT platform in 2020 and I've only just found this thread. I understand that prioritising features can be tricky for a development team, however surely we have enough votes to bump it up to the top of the backlog? If not, how many more do we need? This has been years in the making and as others have stated, I believe this bar-by-bar backtesting feature would elevate NT as the premier testing platform.

I agree 100% with gravenjp. The charting software he mentions makes backtesting so easy and makes NinjaTrader's Playback/backtesting seem so, so painful. Having bar-by-bar replay in sync on multiple timeframes would also be my top feature request.

The other main friction point is loading the data. This other charting software hosts all the tick data themselves, so going back in time to test a day is super fast—within a few seconds. With NT, it takes several minutes to just load up the data, and that's after you have downloaded it to your machine. So, if the data could be seamlessly loaded without the need to select the correct contract, it would eliminate this friction and would be a dream to test with!

Is it possible to build add-ons that interact with the playback system? If not, that would also be a neat feature.

Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, I don't have any firm updates or a timeline of anything at the current moment. Once I report it, my only involvement is to add votes and it is in Development's hands to determine what is feasible. In terms of add-ons, there is a feature request for this item as well but, at the moment, it cannot be manipulated in functionality or on the controller by custom programming.

I do appreciate your feedback and have made sure to add it!
