ensuring your trades are closed before end of day

What's the way to ensure your trades get closed before the end of the day? Is there a way to specify this with an order? if not, is there some addon that can be run to close any open positions by a specific time?

what happens if I lose internet and then it is end of day before internet connection comes back? am I screwed? or is it handled on the server?
