why does the chart trader order entry window have 4 buy and sell buttons?

why does the chart trader order entry window have buy ask, buy bid, sell ask and sell bid buttons when my understanding is that buy orders are always executed at the ask price and sell orders are always executed at the bid price ... meaning that only 2 button would be required instead of 4 [i.e.] buy ask and sell bid?

Hello joemiller,

Please see the button actions below. It determines at what price the limit order is submitted at. It does not determine at what price the order executes. NinjaTrader does not have any control on the execution of live orders. Once live orders have an Accepted/Working status, the reside at the broker/exchange and will execute as per market dynamics.

Buy Ask - Submits a Buy Limit order at the Ask price
Sell Ask - Submits a Sell Limit order at the Ask price
Buy Bid - Submits a Buy Limit order at the Bid price
Sell Bid - Submits a Sell Limit order at the Bid price
