    Hello TazoTodua,

The advise that Jessica gave involves publicly available information for tweaking Visual Studio. While she was being helpful to clients in that thread, tweaking Visual Studio for faster compile times extends beyond what we can assist further with in the support department.

You may try the tips given in the articles she has linked, but we will not be able to provide any additional comment.

If you have any additional NinjaTrader related inquiries, please do not hesitate to open a new thread.

    Hello roblogic,

Even though it appears you have registered in February, welcome to the forums!

Both the amount of code in a strategy and the number of strategies (and other NinjaScripts) will contribute to the amount of code that gets compiled and thus the compile time. All NinjaScript code on the platform gets compiled at once when the compile button is pressed.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Hello Jim

The compile time does it take into account the amount of all strategies created, or it is only affected by the size of the strategy itself?

    Hello selnomeria,

    Thanks for opening the thread.

The biggest contributing factor for long compile times is the amount of code that needs to be compiled. NinjaTrader 8 has a lot more NinjaScripts apart of the custom assembly than NinjaTrader 7.

You can observe the size of the compiled NinjaTrader.Custom.dll assembly in the bin/Custom folder. A larger size assembly will take longer to compile.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

why Compile is slow in NT8?

I see a noticeable lowered speed of compiling the scripts in NT8.

I have clean install of nT7 and NT8, and NT7 compiles in 1 seconds, while NT8 needs 4-5-6 seconds, and development of scripts are very annoying.
I am sure there is something different that NT8 does with compiling, than NT7.

can you tell us why NT8 compiler is slower?
