accounts - maximum position quantities

Hi,

Can someone clarify the how the max position sizing on accounts calculated.

For instance, I setup a sim account to test a strategy, with a size of 1, thinking I only want to test with one lots, but it then actually seems to reject stop and close orders and counts them as part of the position size, even though it isn't, really. Is this correct?

For instance

I submit an order to buy - it get's filled.
Immediately submit a buy to cover, get's cancelled."Rejected: Order '46256dd609784fce8f12e083caf4a30b' can't be submitted: Exceeds account's maximum position quantity."

Logically I would not think this would count to position 'size', but perhaps it is an outstanding order limit? Could you clarify?

Thank you for the post.

These orders account for your total size because the broker treats each order in an individual, discretized way. The broker does not know what orders are tied to each other, only NinjaTrader running on your PC knows that, so the SIM101 account will mimic this behavior. You can adjust your max position size from the Accounts tab of the Control Center. Right click your SIM101 account and select Edit.
