import historic metastock data

Hello,

In import manager when i click on "import" button with metastock data selected in the format options nothing happens, the button has no effect. When i press the button with Ninjatrader time stamp selected the "import" button brings up the browser to locate the file.

Please advise how to get this working.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums!

When using the NinjaTrader8 64 bit version you will see an error in the "log" tab of the control center that basically advises using the 32 bit version of NT8 for the importing of Metastock data.

Here is the message, "Import type 'MetaStock': Error on calling 'OnStateChange' method: Importing MetaStock data is not supported in the 64-bit version of NinjaTrader. Please use the 32-bit version of NinjaTrader to do this import."

Thanks. my metastock file is ASCII format(*.pm) and this does not seem to be recognised by the importer. Is there a way to resolve this?


The other options I have for the historical data are Excel format, Quicken format or general format. Would any of these be better to use?
