When Closing NT8 there should be an option in the general settings area to Save the aLerts log on Closing Ninja. It should not be a prompt on close Just a setting that can be set true or false. This way if you wish to save the Alerts log for review later on it can be automatically saved. It should be saved in the same manner the General Log is saved such that there can be multiple logs per day i.e. one per startup.

I understand the desire to set it to be automatic. Just to cover all bases, currently, you can export the log file at any time by right mouse clicking on the alert panel and selecting "export".

Yes, Its just one of those things I always forget to do.
There may be other things as well that should be options such as output window etc.
but that is not important to me. but I would vote to do it.
