options trading - ninjascript

Let's say I have history data of options,
can I use ninjatrader to write a script for buying/selling PUT/CALL options ?

Thank you for your post.

The NinjaTrader platforms would not support options trading. However, if you had the historical data and imported it into NinjaTrader as another instrument types (Futures, Forex, Equities, etc.) then you could backtest over that historical data. This would require creating a new instrument for the data and then importing the data.

To create instruments you use the Instruments menu from the NinjaTrader Control Center > Tools menu. Information on the Instruments menu can be found at the following link: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...ment_lists.htm

To import historical data you would need to ensure the data is in a format NinjaTrader supports and that the file name is in a format the NinjaTrader supports. These details are handled in our Help Guide under Historical Data: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...ta_manager.htm
To access the Historical Data menu please go to the NinjaTrader Control Center > Tools menu.
