Has anyone had any bad experiences with new version ?

    The full steps to resolve must include an uninstall and reinstall in addition to a rename of your database. Here are the complete steps:
    • Close all running applications.
    • Make sure NinjaTrader is closed from the Windows Task Manager:
    • Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features
    • From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 8 and click Remove.
    • Navigate to the following folders and delete any "NinjaTrader 8" folders located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\" or "C:\Program Files\"
    • Rename the database file
    • Once these steps are completed, download and install NinjaTrader from the link below:
    • http://ninjatrader.com/GetStarted

        Nt 8.0.8

        After upgrading from 8.0.7.1 to 8.0.8 I find the below in the trace files and NT is unable to do anything. It starts but does not connect to gateway and the cursor is just the round spinning working icon. Have to kill the task to get out of it. Downgraded to 8.0.7.1 again but now get a db error saying 'db needs a newer version' message. I've been able to click the Ignore button and all works again.

        I've been able to reinstall 8.0.8 on top of 8.0.7.1 again and it would work for the first boot up but the second hangs up as it was described above. Running on 8.0.7.1 again now. Win 10 Pro.

          Did you uninstall thru windows before reinstalling as Patrick indicated must be done for my error below.

            We're finding that this same 'wrong language' symptom is not resolved by the steps provided below in all cases. We're currently tracking this internally as NTEIGHT-11970.

            If you're experiencing any 'wrong language' behavior in any windows, please write into PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com with a brief description of what you're experiencing and a link to this forum thread. Please also include '1746008 ATTN Patrick G' in the subject or body of your email.

            This will allow us to gather more information about your specific case and more quickly reach a resolution.

              No I didn't. This happened last friday and then again on Monday morning.
              8.0.8 solved a couple annoying issues for me but I think I'll wait now for an 8.0.8.1 or 8.0.9.
              Hate doing something new and it works right then but then the next day when I'm away things flop and I have to VPN in on my phone and try to fix things.

              Haven't seen anyone else with this error either so far and I'm guessing support hasn't read it either since there is no reply. May have to start a new thread.

                I was just going thru your instructions. Please note they would delete all my custom sound files.
                which makes me think Backup should have a selection for Sound files. I will just copy the sound folder.

                  Update -- So I went thru and uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times testing different scenarios
                  1) If I follow patricks instructions and Only import my configuration files. The language is fine.
                  2) If I import Just the configuration files and the database back after a working install It reverts back to language issues..
                  3) This one is Critical. If I import the configuration files and my custom Ninjascript files after a working install it reverts back to the language issues.

                  Worksapces , templates, database files can all be replaced but I cannot trade without my Ninjascript files so this version is no good for me. Whether these are permanently screwed is my real question.

                  Update --- If I copy out the Indicators, Workspaces and Market Replay files and then ReInstall with Patricks instructions and import my configuration files, Copy back in my indicators and workspaces and Replay files, the language appears to be fine with one exception, Some drawing objects in my workspace have their labels translated to German. The Drawing Object U.I is fine which was not true before. I don't care about old drawing objects So I removed the indicator and Deleted them all and Reinstalled indicator. and now that is good.

                  Update -- I copied in everything else templates Market Replay data etc. No problems - Not true if I import everything thru backup. So the backup tool is somehow linked into this problem.

                      Took me about a few hours to get the new version working. I couldn't work out what was causing the problems but in the end deleting the Ninjatrader settings folder completely and setting everything up from scratch again worked for me. No obvious issues so far.

                      However, the whole app seems to have been translated into Ancient Egyptian.... Everything is in hieroglyphics.
