Indicator Install Location?

Hello!

I'm creating an indicator that needs to read from a custom configuration file. I'm thinking the configuration file should reside in the same location as the custom indicator itself.

Does NinjaScript make available a property to determine the indicator's directory/location? Is there an easy way to find this path?

Thank you for your note.

NinjaTrader.Core.Globals.UserDataDir

Returns the full path of the NinjaTrader 8 folder found in the users documents folder.

C:\Users\XUser\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\

Indicators would be stored in the \bin\custom\indicators folder.

I was using

Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolde r.MyDocuments)

but I wasn't sure if that was stable enough if the user changes the install location.

You are better off with NinjaTrader.Core.Globals.UserDataDir, because after multiple demands, NT8 finally does allow us to locate the NTDataDirectory at any arbitrary location of our choice.
