Change MACD input from price to volume

Hi,

I would like some help with changing the input value from price to volume in MACD for NinjaTrader 8. I tried open up MACD.cs and change Input[0] to Volume[0] but that did't do anything.

Could anyone please be so kind and give me the right direction for accomplishing this?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader Forums!

You can do this without working in the code. Add the MACD indicator to a chart. In the MACD properties move the mouse over the selection for "Input Series", when it shows "edit input" left click and an Input series window will show. In the Input series window, on the left side left click to open the "indicators" folder, scroll down to find the VOL indicator, click the OK button, click the Ok button. The chart will now show a MACD based on Volume.

Not the same result compared to another version on another platform but I guess the other VWMACD uses also other data as input!

Thanks though, this opens up new ways to explore price momentum!
