RSI to plot as candles instead of line

I wondered if anyone is able to convert the RSI indicator line to plot normal candles in the indicator panel?

    Cheers

    Hello price777999,

    Thanks for your post.

I am not aware of an indicator that would provide the RSI as a candle. You can display the RSI line as a bar type if that is of interest. To change the line type to a bar, in the Indicator properties select the RSI plot then select "Plot Style" and finally select "Bar".

Otherwise perhaps a member of the community can provide what you are looking for.

        Hello babouin77,

        Thanks for your note.

If you have a Heiken Ashi chart with the RSI indicator applied to it, you could set the 'Panel' property of the RSI indicator to 'Same as input series' to have the indicator plot on the same panel as the data series.

See this help guide page for more information about working with indicators: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...torsParameters

            Hello babouin77,

            Thanks for your note.

To clarify, you are wanting the data series candles in Panel 1 of the chart and in Panel 2 you would like the RSI and Heiken Ashi candles. Is this correct?

Are the Heiken Ashi candles you are referring to from an indicator or a second data series in the chart window?

Please send a screenshot of what you mean by 'the bottom panel got smooched' so I may accurately assist.

I look forward to your reply.

                Hello babouin77,

                Thanks for your note.

The reason you see the bars 'smooched' is because the HeikenAshi bar price is around 4581 and the RSI value is around 45.

If these two indicators are placed within the same panel, the HeikenAshi bars would become 'smooched' because the panel is displaying the gap in values between the RSI indicator value and the HeikenAshi indicator value.

You would have to place these two indicators in separate panels to avoid this 'smooched' behavior.

i know that but i thought there is a way to overcome this. in trading view I could place them together and have the axes just show the RSI value and not the candle value does ninjatrader have that or it is limited? see attached from TV

                    Hello babouin77,

                    Thanks for your note.

This would be a limitation of NinjaTrader. If an indicator is added to the same panel as the data series (candles) and there is a large gap between the candle value and the indicator value, the chart candles/indicator would become compressed to display both values in the same chart panel.

You would need to have these indicators in separate panels to avoid the candle/indicator values becoming compressed.

Or, if you would like to overlay the RSI indicator on the HeikenAshi bars, you could set the RSI 'Scale Justification' property to 'Overlay'.

                        Thanks for your note.

The 'Scale Justification' property is located in the RSI indicator's Properties section underneath the 'Panel' property.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm trying to code the same HARSI indicator and cannot figure out how to get the HA bars to plot in the indicator panel.
