Convert NT7 Custom Indicator to work with NT8

Hello:

I had an indicator created to work with my NinjaTrader ver. 7.0.1000.31. When I tried to import to use with NinjaTrader 8, I received an error message stating "This NinjaScript archive was made from an older, incompatible version of NinjaTrader." How can I make this custom made indicator work with the newer version? Have not done any type programming before. Thank you.

Hello AdamHT,

Items developed specifically for NT7 would not be able to directly import into NT8 unfortunately. There have been many changes in NinjaScript which allow for more advanced items to be created, due to the changes previous items would need to be rebuilt in NT8 to be compatible. If you had downloaded this from a third party, I would suggest to check with that source to see if an update is available, otherwise you may need to look into having a NinjaScript developer convert the file.
