Retrive value of public indicator without new instance

    Hello,

Now, I know I CAN do this, and have, but it's kind of long-winded and probably unsupported! lol. So, my question is

I have an indicator with public value XYZ, which you could get by creating a new instance of the indie, like MyIndie.XYZ[0], but that would (is) wasteful as it's already on the chart. Is there a supported or recommended way to do this? So, indie A knows indie B is already on the chart, so grabs it's public value (not necessarily a plot, but any public value), without creating a new instance of it.

Thanks for any comment you can provide, and have a great weekend.

    Hello pjsmith,

    Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately, this would not be possible; an instance of the indicator is needed in order to get values from it. It is also necessary to call the indicator to have it calculate to populate values like plots or exposed properties.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
