Beginner Question

I'm looking at existing indicators code and trying to locate where the options for line type, width, color etc are created. For instance let's say I want a histogram to have the option of Plots[0].AutoWidth = true; to be user selectable. Can you point me in the right direction?

To add plots you would use AddPlot and its overloads.

If you want to specify properties on a plot directly you can do that like you have shown, instead of using = true you can use = MyUserInput if you wanted to to be user configurable.
