Accessing a dictionary file?

Hi,

Is it possible to save a dictionary as a file somewhere and have an indicator access it?

I have a really long dictionary which I want to update from time to time manually and I don't want to put it within the indicator code if possible.

Being able to use an Excel spreadsheet would be the perfect solution if possible.

Thanks for your note.

You could view the example in the forum thread linked below which demonstrates creating a dictionary in an indicator, exposes it, and demonstrates accessing it from a strategy that you might find helpful.

If you are wanting to read values from a text file you could use a StreamReader. Here is a reference sample from the help guide demonstrating using a StreamReader:

Note that using Dictionaries is not supported by NinjaTrader Support, however, this thread will remain open for the community to offer any assistance.
