NinjaScript Import

I'd like to better understand how NinjaScript is imported ...

1. Looking at the .zip file it has folders e.g. AddOns, Indicators, Srategies - are these the target folders (including any. sub folders) in the NinjaScript Explorer?

2. If a script already exists e.g. EMA, what's the easiest way to determine a) which one is the latest version (current or imported) and b) what's the difference between them?

To answer your first question, yes those folders are the target folders in the NinjaScript Explorer. This also lines up with the file structure from the Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom folder on your PC. In regard to your second question, the latest version of a system script (such as EMA) would be obtained by running the latest install file at the following link:

https://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect

If you are being prompted to overwrite a system indicator that starts with '@' then that means your current version is more up-to-date and the one being imported is a previous version. As for the differences between them, we keep track of updates to NinjaScript items in the release notes here:

You could review the release notes to see what might have changed; one simple way to do this is to select a version from the release notes and then use Ctrl + F to find "NinjaScript" on the page.
