ATR with EMA

Hi, I have added the ATR indicator on my chart to which I would like to overlay an exponential average, such as is done with the volume indicator (VOLMA). I tried adding an EMA to the ATR indicator but it returns two separate lines in the same panel, but I would like to see them overlaid. How can this be done?

Hello frafabry,

What you described is overlaid, that is two indicators in one panel. The EMA and ATR have very different values so they should also appear as two separate lines with their own values.

Are you trying to average the ATR plot by using the EMA?

Thanks for clarifying that.

To average the ATR by using the EMA please do the following:
Remove the indicators from the chart
Add just the EMA indicator
In the EMA configuration configure it how you want for the EMA
Click inside the "Input Series" field in the EMA configuration
Select Indicators -> ATR and configure the ATR as needed.

The ema will then use the ATR prices for the average instead of the chart prices. In this configuration the ATR is hidden and the EMA is plotted
