Hello,

before going over indicator transcribing I want to ask please about CPU-usage of volumetric vs orderflow volume profile because using it on several instruments and dataseries 15 min, 5 min and 2 min.

Is there less CPU usage with "normal" 15 min/5 min/2 min charts and volumeprofile than with volumetric 15 min/5 min/2 min please? And how is the difference when having in orderflowvolumeprofile resolution minutes vs ticks please?

Hi Tony, thanks for posting.

As an example, a 1 minute volumetric data series will use more CPU than a regular 1 minute series because of the historical tick data that needs to be processed and through the real time tick data processing/rendering that takes place in a volumetric series vs a regular 1 minute series. The CPU usage is greater, but not by a very significant amount depending on the CPU being used. It will depend highly on the CPU being used in the test.

thank you for your reply. This is clear of course. So it seems with bad translation from my side I could not post correctly: I do not mean a 1 min vs 1 min volumetric, I mean a 1 min with orderflowvolumeprofile vs 1 min volumetric. And the additional question was if resolution tick needs more cpu than resolution minute, so that if I need resolution tick for having correct plotting (as resolution minute sometimes doesnt plot correctly with the bar https://ninjatrader.com/support/foru...ofile-plotting) then maybe there is no difference in cpu between 1 min volumetric and 1 min with volumeprofile resolution tick.

A.) 1 min volumetric vs 1 min "regular" with orderflow volumeprofile resolution minute
B.) 1 min volumetric vs 1 min "regular" with orderflow volumeprofile resolution tick

With lot of charts for equities and forex futures and because of my multibroker license also with forexdata and fx-pairs this question seems to be important (which for one chart only it is not)

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply.

It still depends on the CPU being used. Just assume if you have a CPU greater or equal to the one listed on the minimum system requirements then the indicators will run fine. Finding the upper limit of what the CPU can handle requires you to make as many Volumentric bars and Volume profiles as you can until performance starts to suffer.
