AddDataSeries

Hello, is it still the case that any indicator using AddDataSeries that the instruments/contracts need to be hard coded into this indicator in the
AddDataSeries parameters in State.Configure. It is still unsupported or considered unreliable to use input parameters to pass in the instrument name ie ES 03-21 or CL 03-21

Thank you for your post.

That is correct, you would need to use AddDataSeries() and hardcode the instrument, bars period type, and period within the AddDataSeries() method for multi-series scripts.

As stated in the Warning section of the AddDataSeries() help guide documentation, arguments supplied to AddDataSeries() should be hardcoded and NOT dependent on run-time variables which cannot be reliably obtained during State.Configure (e.g., Instrument, Bars, or user input). Attempting to add a data series dynamically is NOT guaranteed and therefore should be avoided.

thanks for reply - i presume this is already listed as a feature request - please add my vote to this if not already there.
is this likely to be implemented or is likely ways off in terms of what is required to support this
