Draw customized bars or rectangles

Can I add data/bar series that is a indicator but has nothing to do with a specific symbol? Or do I have to draw every such bar as a rectangle object? I tried to do rectangles, but the thing is for every data bar there is a corresponding rectangle with a unique tag, that makes ninjatrader frozen probably due to too much drawing objects? If I can assign OHLC value to a bar series that might work but they're read only, right? Thanks.

You can override OnRender using SharpDX to render anything you want to the render target. We have an example here demonstrating the technique:
