Does barsAgo only work within onbarupdate and onmarkerdata?

That is say there are 100 bars, if you call Close[5] inside onbarupdate and onmarketdata, it gives you Bar #95. But if you call Close[5] in any other functions or even customized onmarketdata( for example OnMarketData(sender, MarketDataEventArgs) instead of the default OnMarketData(MarketDataEventArgs), it gives you Bar #6, is that correct? Calling or setting any Series related information from a non-data-driven method requires using TriggerCustomEvent() to synchronize the series first.
