    new bar type process

Hello, i am working on creating a custom bar type and trying to use the existing elements that go into the bar type definition.
Part of it involves reading in a field like the base period type used in point and figure bar type setup for a chart. However i only want to use a couple of these options eg seconds or minutes and volume. Is there a way to disable or remove from selection the other items i dont want. Ie day week month year etc ?
Would i be better to define my own enum list or is this not possible and by definition i am constrained to use what is available ie base bar type and value value2 etc in the OnStateChange - configure section
    thanks

    Hello soulfx,

    Thank you for your post.

It wouldn't currently be supported to remove the base types from the list, however, you could monitor what's selected and prevent the script from running if something is selected that you'd not want.

However, we do have an existing SFT to allow custom bars types to have custom properties, which would allow you to remove that property and create your own enum for that instead. I've added a vote on your behalf; this is being tracked under the number SFT-1269.

As with all feature requests, interest is tracked before implementation is considered, so we cannot offer an ETA or promise of fulfillment. If implemented, it will be noted in the Release Notes page of the Help Guide.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.

Hello, following from the above i wanted to check if for a custom bar type there is a way to have 'custom process' ie when the data is loaded - the bar type and loading data is one of the first things to take place before any indicators are added to a chart? Why i ask is that i want to know if there is a way to provide an option ie for this custom bar type when loading the data do A B C but have a means for the user to decide if A B C happens or not?
Is it still only the value value2 and other properties that are available to pass in ?
Its almost like i want a way to add a parameter to the Data series window as a checkbox - if enabled this do this ?
Is the data series part of this SFT to allow a user defined option / parameter even if like break at EOD - that can be accessed somewhere in my own custom process?

        thanks

          Hello soulfx,

          Thank you for your reply.

It sounds somewhat like you're wanting a prompt of some kind for the user - can you clarify the use case a bit further so I can best advise you? This SFT would be for creating custom properties for the Bars Type, I'm not sure what you mean by is the data series part of the feature request.

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.
