How to use New COT indicator on a Forex pair chart

Hi,

I would say big thank you to NinjaTrader for adding this COT indicator which many of us were waiting. I am using FXCM and I want to use this indicator for currency future chart. Can you please tell a bit how I can do that?

Thanks for writing in today.

The COT indicator plots weekly data from the Commitment Of Traders report, indicating holdings of different participants in the U.S. futures market. In order to plot the COT indicator you must first enable COT data to be download.

To do this, within the Control Center go to Tools> Options> Market Data then check Download COT data at start up and restart NinjaTrader.

Thanks for your reply. I have requested the above info after reading the help guide. As I requested info about forex pairs, your help guide does not have anything related to that. If you could advise, how I can use currency future on a chart, that will be great and as I said, for data I am using fxcm connection.

Thanks for your reply and clarification.

The Financials COT report would be one such available COT plot that follows the currency futures.

Unfortunately COT data is not supported on forex instruments.

You would need to be connected to a provider that supports currency pair futures and open a chart with said futures in order to view this data.

Unfortunately this would not be supported on an FXCM connection.

Thanks for the post.

The Kinetick End of Day Free feed does provide free daily data for this instrument. This is historical data only and would work in a daily, weekly, or monthly chart. It would not display the current market price.

It would also provide the COT data.
