Debugging Market Analyzer Columns

Hi NinjaTrader,


I am able to debug both Indicators and Strategies using Visual Studio but unable to debug Market Analyzer Columns.


Is there something additional I need to configure to be able to debug a custom Market Analyzer Column using Visual Studio or is it not possible to do so? If I should be able to then I will continue trying as it is possible it is my side.

Thanks for your inquiry.

I do not have an issue attaching a debugger and hitting breakpoints in a MarketAnalyzerColumn taking the following steps:

1. Compile with Debug Mode selected in the NinjaScript Editor
2. Open Visual Studio from NinjaScript Editor
3. Attach the debugger to NinjaTrader
4. Assign a breakpoint in AskPrice MA Column OnMarketData() method
5. Open Market Analyzer, add Ask Price if it is not added
6. Add Instrument in Market Analyzer
7. Breakpoint hit

Awesome! I will follow your steps and reply back if unsuccessful. Thanks for highlighting the steps so I can confirm what I am doing.


I have also found that when things don't behave as expected on custom scripts that "occasionally" I need to clear the NinjaTrader cache folder before starting NT, but this could be something wonky on my computer. Regardless, this should work and I will reply otherwise.
