    ninjatrader parameters for ema and colors

    I was wondering why in code when calling an ema :

    EMA(12)[0] does not ask for a color.

    When I create the same EMA called EMACOLOR that contains a color for up and a color for down and then I call it

    EMACOLOR(12)[0] I HAVE to add the brushes one for the up color and one for the down color.

    EMACOLOR(12,Brushes.Green,Brushes.Red);

    Is there a way to create a custom indicator so when it is called within a indicator like ema, sma etc I do not have to add the brush colors because I am calling the numeric value?

    Hello ballboy11,

    The overloads that go with the indicator are automatically generated based on the public properties you created. Did you make public properties for the Up color and Down color?

    If so, you can either remove the public properties and make private variables unless you want this configurable from the user interface, in that case, you would leave the public properties and remove the [NinjaScriptProperty] from the property.

    I look forward to being of further assistance.
