adddataseries arguments

Hello,
From what i can determine the adddataseries arguments still need to be hardcoded - i believe there was a feature request submitted some time ago for this. Is this restriction any closer to being resolved? It would seem very limiting and restrictive now on version 8.0.15.1 to still have to hardcode the adddataseries arguments; regardless of the state management process there must a state where these can be safely set from indicator parameter inputs

This request is being tracked with ID #SFT-882. There have not been any developments on this item.

Please note it is up to the NinjaTrader Development to decide if or when any request will be implemented.


Basically, the only current workaround is using BarsRequests to get data as needed. However, the bars data cannot be passed to an indicator. Any calculations that would normally done with indicators have to be done in the script itself which is extra work (but achievable).

Thanks for update, i dont believe i voted on this so please add my vote.

i do see the note in the help pages and that a new overload has been included for R15 where it takes the same period type and period from the primary instrument ; so that would indicate perhaps they are on a step towards run time variables being suppled - given certain futures instruments roll more frequently ie CL ... having to edit scripts is a huge pain and to maintain.
