    Copying from another indicator

    Hi

If I start an indicator from the wizard it shows up on both the indicator list under editor and also on the list within a chart.

I'm also trying to use the candlestick pattern indicator to create alternative scenarios that can be called from another indicator. The problem is that when I copy the code and then give the indicator a name, say "patternBase", it shows up as PatternBase on editor but reverts back to candlestick pattern under the chart list of indicators.

    I guess two questions
    1) am I copying right - select all, copy and paste over new indicator code (deleting all automatically generated code from Wizard)
    2) why is the name reverting back to CandleStickPattern in the chart

Many thanks for any help you can offer

    Hello fluke,

    Thank you for your note.

Below is a link to a video that demonstrates copying a NinjaScript.

Open the script, right-click the editor, select Save As, give a new name.

Your copy is likely using the same string in the Name property set in State.SetDefaults.

Below I am also providing a link to a forum post with helpful information about getting started with NinjaScript.
