Alert requires full path to file name?

When I call the Alert method, I set the file name to "Alert1.wav" and don't get a sound file

When I set the file with the full path like this

NinjaTrader.Core.Globals.InstallDir + @"\sounds\" + filename;

It works ok.

Any idea why this is ?

Thank you for your note.

You need to specify where on your computer the file is you're trying to play as an alert.

You'll see in the helpguide for PlaySound that you need to specify the absolute file path.

I noticed that the built-in indicators Alert without the full path.
For example, this is the alert code from CandleStickPattern.cs

Just curious if you can tell why the difference?

Indicators have logic to handle the full file path. Custom scripts do not.
